The Cloers are Cate and John Cloer. Cate and John have been playing music together since they met at age 15. Now, they are a husband-wife, performing songwriter duo. Their sound can be described as strong pop melodies complimented by Cate's country-pop vocals, and John's percussive acoustic guitar style.
Known for their pensive lyrics and well-crafted songs, The Cloers are garnering attention throughout North Carolina. They are a recipient of a Regional Artist Project Grant from the Arts and Science Council (ASC), were named Charlotte Music Awards Best Singer-Songwriter, and recently, they have been selected as featured performing songwriters in the NC Arts Council's Touring Artist Directory for 2012-2014. Also, The Cloers have supported other artists by serving on the Board of Directors for the NC Songwriters Co-op.
Currently, The Cloers have a self-produced 10 song demo CD available, and are entering the studio this summer to produce their debut CD which will be available fall, 2012. You can learn more about them, and hear a sample of their music at www.thecloers.com.
